OAPB MEMBER
Offshore Anglers of Pompano Beach Fishing Club holds a monthly meeting at Sands Harbor. Â Most meetings a guest speaker covers topics that include: fishing techniques (kite fishing, deep dropping, trolling, down-rigging), how to target specific pelagic fish, boat safety, gear and tackle, and current issues affecting our local fishing area. The membership meetings are open to OAPB members/family, and on occasion to the general public when newsworthy topics are to be presented by guest speakers.
In addition to the membership meetings the OAPB has several events including a monthly social at Kaluz Restaurant, Ceviche Competition, Boca Bash Raft up, Crawfish Boil Block Party, Summer Slam to The Keys, International trip, and an annual Holiday & Awards party.
OAPB also sponsors an annual contest for our members that promotes the diversity of your catch, release of billfish, ethical fishing practices, and the development of member camaraderie. Awards are presented at the Annual Awards Ceremony and Holiday Party. New for 2020 is our Slayer Competition where tournament teams can turn in 5 aggregate fish caught during an OAPB tournament (8 tournaments) for a top prize of $5,000!!!
