Swordfish Tournament Captains Meeting

Join us for our annual Swordfish Tournament  this weekend. Captain’s meeting is tomorrow night at 26 Degrees Brewery 6pm. Offshore fishing for Swordfish has been off the chain out of Hillsboro Inlet, and we look forward to seeing some monsters of the deep at the scales. This tournament is open to the public, local fishermen, captains, and families.

Capt. Charlie Johnson, OAPB Tournament Chair, is heading this event up for our community. Capt. Charlie runs a local charter out of Hillsboro Inlet called Good Time Charlie Charters. Not only does he take customers out on his boat, he also will come out on to your boat to show you the correct set up to land a  nice fish.

Thank you to Billy Springer and Gray Taxidermy for the awesome Swordfish Mount they donated for our tournament raffle. This mount is valued at over $1500, and all proceeds will go toward our Kids Day Fishing event by the OAPB Fishing Foundation.

KIDS DAY FISHING~FISH CITY PRIDE~OAPB FISHING FOUNDATION

Saturday July 13th was a beautiful day to be on the water fishing.  A group of young adults came aboard Fish City Pride with our volunteers and chaperones to learn about fishing out of Hillsboro Inlet, Pompano Beach FL. Some of these kids have never been on boats or even picked up a fishing rod. That did not stop them from dropping the anxiety/fear for absolute fun and laughter. Check out the video of the day.

ANGLER ARMORY-FISH WHAT YOU WISH CONTEST

We are excited to partner up with Angler Armory Fishing Club and Zone 3 tournaments. Our OAPB King Mackerel Tournament will pit local teams up against each other for the Heaviest King in our area. The hunt is on, and these captains will be pushing their anglers to pull that slob onto the deck. Angler Armory provides a contest called Fish What You Wish, and over the course of the year Angler Armory Teams can weigh in 3 of their heaviest King Mackerels. Kingfish Teams will have the opportunity to fish multiple tournaments, and put their skills to the test. Good luck everyone. See you at the scales with that monster King!!! BLUE WILD OCEAN ADVENTURE EXPO

Join OAPB for the Blue Wild Ocean Adventure Expo at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL  April 14-15th.

Sat April 14th 10:00am to 7:00pm

Sun, April 15th 11:00an to 7:00pm
